Theme

Theme:
•    Did any characters change during the course of the book?  How did they change?  What forces caused the change?
•    Did the book end the way you thought it would?  What clues did the author give that made you think that?
•    What is  “big picture” category that the story is about?  Friendship?  Survival?  Injustice?  How does the author convey the theme?

  1. The big picture I think is friendship. Melinda went through being a victim of rape alone and that is not hard to do. She had friends but when her friends misjudge her for calling the cops she becomes alone and depressed. She tries to make everything better but she feels like her friends won't believe her. This is not a true friend. A true friend believes her friend no matter the cost.

Melinda did make a friend heather, but as she says in the book this is her "fake friend". Melinda couldn't talk to anyone because there was no trust. I think trust is another big picture. Without a friendship with trust is a useless friendship. If your not going to belive you f end then what type of friend are you?
